Woman hit by boat propeller rushed to the hospital

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — UPDATE (7 PM) --- The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to a boating accident involving a boat with eleven occupants near Estero Bar on Saturday.

Officials say the boat was on plane when a 26-yea-old woman, who was standing near the bow of the boat, fell into the water and was struck by the propeller.

Officials confirmed she was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Officials say non of the other occupants sustained injuries.

The FWC, Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Lee County Emergency Services, Estero Fire Department and the United States Coast Guard responded to the scene.

Officials say this incident is under investigation by the FWC.
