A 32-year-old Bonita Springs woman was arrested for attempting to cash a stolen check, said the Collier County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to a possible fraud in process at Bank of America at 899 Vanderbilt Beach RD in Naples.
When they arrived they made contact with a man attempting to cash a check in the amount of $500 on a closed account. The man told Deputies that he received the check from Stephanie Blume, who asked him to cash the check because she did not have identification with her, CCSO said.
Detectives later spoke with Blume who was waiting in the parking lot at Bank of America.
Blume told Deputies that she received the check from her employer.
After contacting the the check owner it was determined that Blume was not an employee of his and obtained the check without permission.
She was arrested and remains in jail on a $32,000 bond.
