LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Thousands of students across the country, and here in Southwest Florida took part in National Walk to School Day on Wednesday.
Photos from the Lee County Sheriff's Office show deputies, along with first responders, walking to school with local kids.
The goal is to highlight the importance of safer, more active transportation for our communities.
