LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The owner of a VR Labs was found dead with a gun shot wound in his home on Saturday, according to police.

Police said they responded to a call from Kay Gow, 68, who found her husband dead at their home on Pondview Circle in Naples.

When police arrived, Robert Gow, 77, was found laying face down in the sauna with a gun shot wound.

Police said there was a gun laying on the bench seat inside the sauna, and there was a handwritten letter on the bed that appeared to be a suicide note.

Kay told police that she left home around 8:30 a.m. for an appointment and returned around 1:30 p.m. When she found Robert, she called 911 immediately, according to police.

Robert and Kay were found guilty of duping Lee County taxpayers out of millions of dollars. They were recently convicted on ten charges surrounding wire fraud and money laundering.

Kay could face up to 45 years in prison.
