LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A push to change how the Lehigh Acres Fire Department is funded was voted down yesterday.
The District collects its revenue from non-ad valorem assessments instead of ad valorem taxes currently.
55% of voters chose to keep the department funded through real estate and other personal property taxes.
