ESTERO, Fla. — Volunteers with the Estero Council of Community Leaders have been doing some clean up along Highway 41.
ECCL says 2,080 pounds of trash was collected along the road over the last four months.
"A four-month total of 2,080 pounds of litter picked up from Estero's stretch of Highway 41 is extremely impressive. On behalf of the Board of Directors and Executive Management Team, I want to express our sincere gratitude for what you all accomplished. Thanks for your commitment to Estero and for taking the time to make it even more beautiful. You are an example of "giving back to your community, and your efforts are appreciated," said ECCL President Jim Gilmartin.
Volunteers will be working to clean up Estero until April.
