CAPE CORAL, Fla -- Safety is a big concern this Halloween with COVID-19, and that's especially true for families with critically-ill children. One organization hopes its virtual celebration will be the perfect way to bring a smile to their faces!

Saturday morning, the Casey Cares Foundation will be hosting a virtual Halloween program and dance party. It's set to get started at 11 a.m.

The foundation is dedicated to providing uplifting activities to families of kids with life threatening illnesses. But the pandemic has changed the way they do that since its patients' weakened immune systems put them at a high risk when it comes the virus.

The foundation will hold a zoom celebration featuring a spooky Edgar Allen Poe video, costume contest and more.

Fox 4 spoke with the founder of Casey Cares who said events like this are about helping these families focus on the positive.

Some other examples of how the organization has adapted to provide that support amid the pandemic include zoom calls with celebrities and mailing movie night kits.
