UPDATE 11/20

The Federal Aviation Administration flight restriction placed on Sanibel Island was canceled today. The VIP planning to visit, likely the Vice President, will not be arriving this weekend.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- We're expecting a visitor who requires a lot of security in Southwest Florida on Friday night.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, there are flight restrictions in place on Sanibel Island Friday night from 10 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. Restrictions are in place through Tuesday, June 4th.

This means no one can operate an aircraft over the area.

This usually means a visit by a high-profile figure with heavy security, like the President or the Vice President.

Vice President Mike Pence and his family have visited Sanibel more than once in the past.
