PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Police are sharing a video showing a dangerous driving situation to raise awareness of wrong way drivers.
Punta Gorda Police posted a video on their Facebook page Tuesday showing an SUV driving south in the northbound lanes of Tamiami Trail.
The undated video takes place near the intersection with Charlotte Avenue. That's in a section of U.S. 41/Tamiami Trail near downtown Punta Gorda where the highway splits up into separate northbound and southbound lanes several blocks apart.
In this case, the driver of an SUV appears to have mistakenly turned southbound onto the northbound only section.
Thankfully police say nobody was injured in the incident. But they would like to remind drivers to be aware of the one-way roads in Punta Gorda and avoid this happening again.
