A milestone Wednesday for the American Military Veterans Foundation’s Cape Coral branch.
It’s expanding its location near the corner of Del Prado and Pine Island Road.
Founded in 2010, the organization started with classes allowing veterans to make their own fishing rods.
"it's a really unique thing it lets them control their own mind, it makes them concentrate a little bit more, it gets their minds off their problems,” said founder David Souders.
Since then it has grown, adding a music program headed by an army veteran who started taking guitar classes here a few months ago.
“I decided to get back involved with music because I was losing my hearing,” said Mark Richards.
AMMILVETS also refurbishes wheel chairs and gives them out for veterans.
