Two people hospitalized after Fort Myers shooting

FORT MYERS, Fla. --- Neighbors woke up to early morning crime scene after hearing several gunshots Tuesday. 

Multiple bullet holes are seen in the wall of one nearby home and the 21 evidence markers were scattered on the scene. 

According to investigators the shooting happened just before 4 a.m. on Belmont Street near Polk Street in Fort Myers. 

Neighbors telling 4 In Your Corner that shootings happen almost twice a month in the area and the neighborhood is always on high alert. 

Police say two victims were shot and are in stable condition. 

The gunman is still on the run. 

Police are in the early stages of investigating.
