The Marco Island Police Department released documents showing a months long internal investigation into a pair of its officers.
Those officers, Sergeants James Inlow and Neil Giansanti resigned in February and May of 2018 respectively.
The investigation began in January 2017 after an island resident wrote Chief Al Schettino saying he was concerned about a relationship his 20-year-old daughter was having with Inlow.
Thousands of text messages and sexually explicit pictures were obtained from Inlow's phone. The time stamp shows they occurred while Inlow was on duty.
In one conversation the woman wishes Inlow a happy birthday, he responds by asking her for a "pick me up", which according to the report, is the drug adderall. The woman replied back "I'm gonna do a lot more than that Birthday Boy."
Internal affairs reports also show Giansanti had sex with the same woman in his patrol car, according to to images that surfaced showing her getting dressed near the vehicle while Giansanti was on duty.
Giansanti and Inlow have not been charged with any crimes.
The Marco Island Police Department says another officer is under investigation, but won't release additional details until the investigation is finished.
