COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies say thieves cut through a fence to steal two horses at a property off Immokalee Road over the weekend.
It happened near the intersection of Immokalee Road and Sanctuary Road.
On Sunday, the unknown suspects cut the victim’s fence to remove the horses: a brown Bay gelding with a black mane and tail, and a spotted Appaloosa gelding who is white with brown spots.
The Appaloosa has a heart-shaped brand on its left hip.
Alithea Arcia lives close to the farm where these horses were stolen and says she used to train the animals.
She believes this was crime carried out by professionals.
"Obviously they knew what to do with the animals, they weren't afraid. Horses are very well large animals, you ca very easily get hurt," said Arcia.
Arcia adds that it's also likely that the crooks had been casing the place for some time.
"They had to looked and seen the property because that is the only spot you can't see from the house," said Arcia.
Deputies believe this theft may be connected to another attempted livestock theft on Tuesday. The suspects in that case were driving a vehicle similar to a black Ford F-450 crew cab with a black flatbed work body. It was hauling a Gooseneck trailer with three axles, similar to the one in this photo.
The first suspect in Tuesday's incident was described as a white male with a salt-and-pepper beard. He was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt and camo pants.
The second suspect in Tuesday's incident was a black male with a salt-and-pepper beard with vertical lines shaved into the beard. He was also wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with camo pants.
The two men drove away in a black truck with an attached trailer, similar to those in the photo.
