ESTERO, Fla — Two fraternities at Florida Gulf Coast University are on immediate interim suspension after the school received reports of large parties.

In a message from President Mike Martin, he says the reports claim the parties happened on Friday night off-campus and violated the University's COVID-19 guidelines for social distancing and face coverings.

As a result, he says both fraternities were placed on suspension, and they are prohibited from conducting all operations and activities.

This includes new member recruitment and having meetings until a decision has been made through the Student Code of Conduct process.
