COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies say they've made two arrests following a pursuit involving a stolen SUV in Golden Gate last week.
18-year-old Jada Barbour of Bradenton is charged with grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding law enforcement officers, driving on a revoked license, and grand theft.
A 17-year-old Golden Gate female is also charged with grand theft auto.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, the pursuit started after the 23-year-old victim says he was giving the 17-year-old a ride and stopped at a Circle K for a drink. That's when the teen drove off in his SUV.
Deputies located the vehicle on Golden Gate Parkway and chased it until a tactical technique was used to stop it near 68th Street Southwest, with Barbour as the only occupant.
The victim arrived and confirmed that Barbour was not the one who stole the SUV. Investigators later located the 17-year-old at her home and arrested her.
