LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two men are now in jail, facing charges for the killing of a Bonita Springs man nearly two years ago.
25-year-old Arturo Gonzalez and 19-year-old Kevin Guzman were arrested Tuesday for Jordan Valero's death.
Valero died in a shooting in July of 2016. Investigators say they found Valero dead in his home in the early morning hours of July 10, after he had been out with friends watching a UFC fight that evening.
Detectives believed all along that Valero had been targeted in the shooting.
“Though this case is nearly two years old, we absolutely refused to give up on it,” said Undersheriff Carmine Marceno. “The dedication and the tenacity of our detectives is on full display with the arrest of two people responsible for this senseless crime.”
Gonzalez is charged with Second Degree Murder and Armed Burglary. Guzman faces charges of Second Degree Murder, Armed Burglary and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.
Gonzalez bond was set at 1.5 million dollars, Wednesday, while Guzman received a $700k bond. Crime Stoppers Coordinator Trish Routte says investigators are still asking for tips from the public on the case. "Yes, we do have two people in custody. Yes, we will be pursuing everything to the fullest extend of the law. However, if there are people in the community that have known about what happened to Jordan and about the two people involved, it's never to late to speak up," she said.
