FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The trial date for suspected Zombicon shooter Jose Bonilla has been pushed back a couple months.
In a pre-trial conference Tuesday morning, the defense says they received new discovery from the state last week, including another witness and an alleged statement from Bonilla.
The defense argued that it’s not feasible for them to be ready for the original trial date, which was April 22nd.
They asked the judge for a continuance, to which the state had no objection.
Judge Frank Porter granted the request, so the new trial date is now set for August 20th.
