CAPE CORAL, FLA — A local travel agent says clients are keeping their overseas travel plans in the wake of the newest strain of coronavirus spreading.

Fox 4 spoke to the owner of concierge cruises, Georgene Malovich, who says they have gotten some calls from concerned customers.

But she adds that most haven't chosen to cancel their trips.

The company is using a special database to get the latest travel alerts and inform their clients.

They're also encouraging clients to avoid traveling if they're sick or come in contact with someone who is.

"My suggestion to everyone is that if you're ill, you shouldn't be going on a trip. That's why we recommend taking out insurance, said Malovich.

As of now the CDC has placed alevel three travel notice on China and South Korea. They're asking everyone not to travel there unless they absolutely have to.

They've also placed a level two notice on Italy and Iran. They're encouraging those who visit those countries to use hand sanitizer and avoid sick people.
