UPDATE 12/24:
An SUV traveling northbound on US-41, on the inside lane, struck a woman attempting to cross from the east shoulder of Harper Road.
The 40-year-old woman was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
UPDATE 9:45 PM:
The road has been cleared and has reopened to traffic.
US41 northbound is down to one lane of traffic from Harper Road to Andrea Lane, until further notice.
Traffic is delayed in the area.
Drivers should seek an alternate route.
