NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. — NFL fullback Tommy Bohanon was back in his hometown of North Fort Myers Saturday. The former New York Jet and Jacksonville Jaguar was at North Fort Myers High School for the 3rd annual Tommy Bohanon Football Camp.
Dozens of kids in grades 1 through 8 attended the free event, taking part in "train like a pro" football drills. They also listened to Bohanon talk about his journey to the NFL. The pro football player talked to them about making education the key to achieving their goals.
"Education and hard work - those are the two things I really harp on," Bohanon said. "I tell them that education is really the most important thing to them right now, no matter what they want to do in life."
Bohanon signed autographs and took pictures with the kids after the four-hour camp.
His wife Katie said the event wouldn't be possible without a dedicated team of coaches and volunteers.
