LEE COUNTY, Fla. — FOX 4 journalists, including reporter Rochelle Alleyne, have been covering the issue of homelessness since April of 2020, just after the pandemic was declared. She spoke to people struggling with homelessness during the original shelter in place order.
As it turns out, Lee County's homeless population had few places to turn. Continuous coverage has helped keep the issue at the forefront with Lee County Commissioners. Through our reporting, we've even connected some people with safe housing.
To help break down the complexities of this issue, and any new developments that result from our coverage, FOX 4 has created this timeline to help our viewers and our community keep up to date with what's happening in regard to homelessness in Lee County.
