One dead, two others injured in crash on Colonial Boulevard Friday morning

**UPDATE (9:10AM)** -- Fort Myers Police now confirm that an early morning crash on Colonial Boulevard was deadly.

They say two trucks collided on Colonial Boulevard at I-75, sending all occupants to the hospital. On victim later died at the hospital.

Alcohol is possibly a factor in the crash.

FMPD's Traffic Homicide Investigators and the FDLE are investigating.

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Three people had to be rushed to the hospital after an early-morning crash on Colonial Boulevard Friday.

It happened just after 2:30 a.m. near the I-75 northbound off-ramp.

According to a witness at the scene, one driver was rushed to the hospital with leg injuries. Another driver, and that driver's passenger, were also taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

Fort Myers Police is handling the investigation, we expect to get an update from the department with more detailed information later this morning.

The Fox 4 crew at the scene says FDLE is also on scene as part of the investigation.
