FORT MYERS, Fla. -- The eleventh annual Southwest Florida Pride Festival was held this weekend at the Alliance for the Arts on McGregor Boulevard.
The event celebrates the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community.
One man tells Fox 4 that he's glad this event allows people celebrate who they are. “This is so important because it just lets everybody know that they’re welcome everywhere in Southwest Florida. We have people coming from all over, and it’s just a statement, saying you can live here in Southwest Florida, be you, be proud, and be happy, and enjoy a great venue like this once a year.”
Over the years, this event has grown from a few hundred attendees to thousands.
