CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. --- Charlotte County Police Department warning residents of suspicious activity at construction sites.
Investigators say they have seen an increase in thieves stealing copper from construction sites and selling it for money.
Construction site workers and the Charlotte County Police Department have joined forces to create signs that will help neighbors and other community members to be vigilant.
The sign serves as a warning to thieves there is no trespassing onto the construction site premises and reminding neighbors to report suspicious activity.
The signs are available for free to any contractor at any district office.
Charlotte County has over 700 new construction permits.
