It was a nail-biter on the finale of The Masked Singer on Wednesday night, and no one guessed the winner except the host.

It was a shock few predicted, including the judges, as 33-year-old rapper T-Pain, aka "The Monster", wins it all on Fox’s surprise hit.

The 2-time Grammy winner has a string of hits, but was best known for popularizing "auto-tune", a pitch correction effect. But he didn't need to use it on the show.

"This helped me get my voice out there even more, and I thank you," said T-Pain.

"I was blown away. I never could have guessed the final two,” said judge Robin Thicke.

Runner-up Donny Osmond dazzled the crowd as “The Peacock,” singing show-stopping tunes, while using his Broadway and Vegas experience to bring everyone to their feet.

The Empress of Soul, Gladys Knight stung all in her "Bee" costume, blowing away the judges with her renditions of pop hits.

Both Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger were tearful at the end. "I cry. I remember and I don't usually cry very often, and I know that in this show that I was so moved by their journey,” said McCarthy.

“I'm watching this thing onstage creature, and it's…it's still moving. It kind of breaks down all barriers,” said Scherzinger.
