Remember these beautiful faces? That's 12-year-old Alana Tamplin, she died one day before her 13-th birthday last year.
Alana was struck by a car near her bus stop in North Fort Myers.
Months later, 8-year-old Layla Aiken died after a truck hit her while she waited for her bus in Cape Coral.
Both tragedies lead to a Southwest Florida wide effort.
Many worked together to build and install benches at bus stops to help keep kids safe.
One organization is honoring the lives of both girls.
Fox 4 Photojournalist, Curt Tremper spoke to the group as they worked with local teens to protect kids.
