MARCO ISLAND — UPDATE: The Georgia teen that was struck by lightning while vacationing on Marco Island has passed away.
A teenager was injured while swimming on Marco Island Saturday afternoon, and authorities believe they may have been struck by lightning.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office tells us the call came in at 3:46 p.m. Saturday at Beach Marker R136. Marco Island Police and Marco Island Fire responded to the scene.
