UPDATE 12/28:
The 15-year-old driver of the car was placed under arrest for Vehicular Homicide and driving without a license involving death. She was booked into the Lee County Jail.
An 18-year-old, Cape Coral girl has died after riding on the trunk of a car.
On Nov. 11, just after 6 pm, the teen was riding on the trunk of a car when she fell off into the roadway at Maple Ave North and E Penn Road, in Lehigh Acres.
She was transported to a local hospital by EMS and later pronounced dead.
The driver, a 15-year-old, and another passenger, a 17-year-old, both girls from Lehigh Acres, were not injured.
FHP is investigating.
