The school resource officer assigned to Baker Early Learning Center arrested a teacher aide after he physically harmed two students.
63-year-old Anthony Del Priore was arrested on two accounts of felony child abuse on Thursday.
According to the Punta Gorda Police Department, a delivery driver saw Del Priore physically abuse two, four-year-old students in the cafeteria. Once the school staff was notified, he was immediately separated from students.
Investigators said that surveillance video showed Del Priore kicking a chair as a student sat down, which caused the student’s head to hit the table. The video also showed him hitting another student in the head twice and pulling their head backward.
Neither of the students suffered any physical injuries. Del Priore was placed under arrest and transported to the Charlotte County Jail.
