Student injured in school stabbing at Dunbar High

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Dunbar High School student received treatment for a stabbing injury Thursday after an altercation on campus.

In a message sent to Dunbar High parents by the Lee County School District on Thursday, it's reported that during an altercation during gym class, one student had a knife and injured the other student.

Administrators and a School Resource Officer immediately responded and confiscated the weapon.

The victim sustained a non-life threatening injury.

The student responsible for the stabbing is facing severe disciplinary action.
