PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Police say a student at Punta Gorda Middle School is in custody after reportedly making a threat.
According to Punta Gorda Police, reports came in from the school that a student was making threatening statements to other students.
When officers discovered that the student was not in their scheduled class, the school was placed on a Code Red lock down as a precaution.
The student was found skipping class in a restroom and taken into custody. Further investigation determined that there is no evidence the student had the ability to carry out the threat or harm anybody.
