LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- About a thousand LCEC customers lost their power after storms made their way through the area Tuesday evening.

A spokesperson for LCEC tells Four in Your Corner that Tuesday’s massive power outage was weather-related. They say a tree branch fell and hit a line.

The LCEC outage map was showing several areas shaded in yellow, indicating anywhere from 100-to-500 power outages reported, in areas including Cape Coral, North Fort Myers, and into Charlotte County.

But by 10 p.m. Tuesday, all areas were in the green, meaning less than 100 people were without power.

The FPL outage map was showing that there were 438 outages reported in the Six Mile Cypress area.

Those storms brought some heavy winds with them.  A video sent in by Fox 4 viewer Gabriella Pelissari shows those winds moving a canopy right across her back porch in Cape Coral.
