CAPE CORAL, Fla-- An innocent game of basketball between two young boys ended in a call to police. Cape Coral PD said the latest incident of stranger danger happened Friday night in the 4300 block of SW 26th Ave.

The pair said they were playing out front of their house along SW 26th Ave. when a man pulled up in a white 4-door sedan and offered them a dollar coin if they challenged each other to a free throw match. When both missed the car drove off. However, just minutes later returned offering to coin to whoever would come to the car and get it. The two were terrified by the request, ran inside and called police.

Police said the description the boys provided was a middle aged man with grayish light hair and pale skin.

Police said this incident serves as a reminder for parents to sit down with their kids to talk about stranger danger. Authorities said kids should never approach or accept anything from a stranger, always use the buddy system, trust your instincts and if something isn't right immediately call police.
