Stone Crab season reopened in Southwest Florida on Sunday, October 15th.
Pinchers in downtown Fort Myers is one location that catches and serves stone crabs fresh.
If you want to catch them on your own, Florida Fish and Wildlife (FWC) asks that you go by a few rules: You are not allowed to use any traps with round entrances.
You can use up to five stone crab traps per person. There's also a limit of one gallon of claws per person, or two gallons per boat; whichever is less. The FWC also asks that you only take one claw from each crab.
Stone Crab season ends on May 15, 2018.
