CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Police arrested a man early Monday they say had stolen a bottle of prescription pills from a Cape Coral residence.
47-year-old Daniel Clapper is charged with burglary of a conveyance, grand theft of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
According to Cape Coral Police, Clapper was stopped around 4:30 a.m. near the 3800 block of Country Club Boulevard for having no lights on his bicycle.
The officer noticed a bulge in Clapper's sweatshirt, which contained cash, sunglasses, a necklace, and a prescription pill bottle.
The officer used the nearby address on the pill bottle to locate the victim, who was determined to have been burglarized by Clapper.
Any possible owners of the necklace, cash, or sunglasses were not located.
Clapper was booked into the Lee County Jail, where he remains in custody.
