State Attorney's Office assist with unsolved homicide in Cape Coral

CAPE CORAL, Fla — The State Attorney Amira Fox and Cape Coral Police Chief Dave Newlan need your help with an unsolved homicide from six years ago.

54-year-old Alfred Griffiths of Cape Coral was gunned down just before 9 p.m. on November 18, 2014.

Griffiths was the manager of the T.J. Maxx store on Del Prado Boulevard and was sitting on a bench in front of the store.

Investigators say he was shot in the head, and the shooter left the area.

The State Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit is assisting CCPD with the investigation.

State Attorney Fox also announced the State Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit Tip Line on Wednesday to help bring in more tips.

Callers can remain anonymous.

“The new tip line is an important resource in our continuous effort to solve cold cases. The State Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit is comprised of experienced homicide investigators and prosecutors. They have solved and prosecuted numerous homicides. The State Attorney’s Office homicide investigators receiving information from the tip line are experienced in evaluating any and all leads that may assist in resolving cases alongside our law enforcement partners,” said State Attorney Fox.

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is offering $28,000 in reward money for information leading to an arrest.
