FORT MYERS, FLa. — We are honoring a long career of service to our community. The Southwest Florida Public Service Academy paid tribute to the late master sergeant Daniel Hinton this morning by adding a brick with his name on their grounds.
Hinton spent 32 years with the Florida Highway Patrol.
He suffered a heart attack during a training exercise back in February.
Hinton's family was joined by hundreds of law enforcement officers for this dedication ceremony.
His wife Julie Hinton stood in front of the crowd with a message.
