The Southwest Florida Community Foundation recently awarded $761,650 in scholarships to high school, undergraduate and graduate students from Lee, Collier, Charlotte and Glades County.
Out of 393 eligible student applicants, 135 scholarships were awarded after being reviewed by 111 volunteers.
For the second year, the foundation awarded 25 of the scholarships as multi-year awards to benefit students each year until they complete school.
Founded in 1976, the Southwest Florida cultivates regional change for the common good through collective leadership, social innovation, and philanthropy to address different needs in Collier, Glades, Hendry, Lee and Charlotte counties. Partnering with different people and corporations, the foundation has created more than 400 philanthropic funds.
