Some areas still struggling to recover after Irma

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla., - More than six months after Hurricane Irma ripped through Southwest Florida, some Bonita Springs residents are still shaken by what Irma did to their community.

Volunteers with We Care Ministries and other area church organizations are still working to clean debris and rebuild.

4 In Your Corner caught up with them as they were working to repair their 68th home in the Imperial Bonita Estates Mobile Home and RV Resort.

“People come together to do what’s right and what’s right today is to put a roof on that house,” said Ray Giunta, Executive Director of We Care Ministries.

“We have 600 homes in here and there were only about a hundred that were spared either the wind or the water.”

Forecasters from Colorado State University have announced their predictions for an above average hurricane season this year.
