Water line breaks shuts down lanes on U.S. 41 in East Naples

An irrigation line broke at the intersection of Guilford Road and US 41 in Naples. It caused the road to collapse and created a massive hole. The eastbound lanes of 41 are closed while crews do repairs. It's expected to reopen between 6 & 7 this morning.

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. --- Eastbound lanes of U.S. 41 are shut down due after a water line break opened a large hole in the road in East Naples.

The sinkhole was caused by a burst irrigation pipe early Sunday morning.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office confirmed via Twitter the road damage is impacting eastbound lanes in the area of Guilford Road.

One eastbound lane of U.S. 41 was reopened shortly after 6 a.m. Monday.
