Police are working to figure out what led up to a shooting in Fort Myers Sunday.
The shooting happened at a home on Maple Drive, not far from Summerlin Road.
Neighbors in the area gave first hand accounts of what happened but were not willing to go on camera. One man told us he saw a young man come out of a home on this street with three holes in his chest.
Lee County Sheriffs Deputies are collecting statements from witnesses but so far aren't confirming anything other than this is an active investigation.
Neighbors we spoke with say the young man, in his twenties, walked into the home unharmed, then they heard yelling, and the man was hurt.
One person told me he knows the victim and says he is a good kid and does not bother anyone.
At this time we are getting conflicting reports about this neighborhood as a whole, some said it is calm and peaceful and nothing happens in this area. While another told us there are drug and prostitution concerns.
So far, authorities aren't confirming any of those statements.
