Parents always try to watch out for tricks when it comes to their kids treats, but this year Collier County Sheriff's Deputies are urging people to look out for this drug which could blend in with their kids treats.
The drug is Methylenedioxypyrovalerone, sometimes referred to as MDPV or "bath salts". It is sometimes labeled by dealers as jewelry cleaner or phone screen cleaner. This years, Sheriff's deputies are concerned the drug could be labeled as Halloween candy.
One parent Four in Your Corner spoke to today said that says that he is always on the lookout for anything unusual in his child's Halloween treats.
"We just keep an eye on what they're given, look at the packages beforehand. It's always been a worry", he told Four in Your Corner.
The warning about bath salts came after deputies in Franklin County, Florida confiscated the drug on two separate occasions. At first glance the drug looks harmless, which is why deputies are urging parents to talk to their older children and closely supervise their younger ones.
