LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- The Lee County Sheriff's Office held a swearing-in ceremony for newly-appointed Sheriff Carmine Marceno Monday morning in Fort Myers.
The ceremony was held at 11 o'clock at McGregor Baptist Church on Colonial Boulevard and was open to the public.
Marceno also held a mass swearing-in for Lee County Sheriff's Office personnel.
Last month, Gov. Rick Scott appointed Marceno as sheriff due to the retirement of long-time sheriff Mike Scott.
Gov. Scott and Mike Scott spoke at the ceremony.
