COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- A Collier County man will spend 30 years in prison and register as a designated sexual predator for trying to kidnap two women in the same day in Immokalee last year.
According to the State Attorney's Office, In January 2019, 32-year-old Alexander Manzano offered a ride to a woman after seeing her working on a flat tire on her bike. He kidnapped her, pulled out a knife and tried to sexually violate her.
She was able to run for help.
Hours later, Manzano tried to kidnap a woman walking along the road, but she fought back.
A passerby saw the attack and pulled over to help.
He was found guilty of Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Attempted Sexual Battery with a Deadly Weapon, and Attempted Kidnapping following a trial in Collier County last month.
He has been sentenced to 30 years in prison and designated a Sexual Predator.
