A puppy who was severely tortured, is now the the Lee County Sheriff's Office latest Deputy Dog.

Fox 4 first introduced you to Whiskey Duncan, an eight-month-old Great Dane mix, on October 15th. He was found on a porch in Miami-Dade County covered in blood and unable to move.

Whiskey was rescued by Love is Fur Ever Dog Rescue, and his veterinarian said his injuries were the most painful he's ever seen. He said it looks like Whiskey was tied up, dragged, and his tail was severed off.

By becoming a Deputy Dog, the Founder of the rescue, Victoria Frazier, said she knows Whiskey's story will inspire even more people.

"You, too, can make a difference. If you see something, say something. It matters," Frazier said.

Whiskey's case is still under investigation.
