UPDATE (4/26) -- Cape Coral Police have identified the four people injured in a dramatic crash on Hancock Bridge Parkway Thursday afternoon. They also confirm this crash is being investigated as a road rage incident and a possible result of drug impairment.
According to Cape Coral Police, the two vehicles involved were both headed westbound, side-by-side on Hancock Bridge Parkway at 12:17 p.m. That's when the car in the right lane veered left and collided with an SUV in the left lane. After colliding, the car got pushed by the SUV into the median and into two trees.
The car was pushed up the trees and the SUV slid under the car.
The car's passenger, 19-year-old Walter Caboa, was ejected from the car and suffered serious injuries. The car's driver, 18-year-old Tiana Lassalle, suffered life threatening injuries in the crash.
The driver of the SUV, 19-year-old Marli Sollitto, and her 17-year-old female passenger both suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.
All four were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
