CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- A sergeant with the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office has been fired following an Internal Affairs investigation in which he was accused of intentionally exposing himself in a bar.

Sergeant James White was fired last week for Violation of Law.

According to the Internal Affairs report, the incident in question happened in August 2017 at Leroy's Southern Kitchen and Bar in Punta Gorda.

Several members of the sheriff's office were celebrating a detective's promotion that night and congregated at Leroy's after dinner elsewhere.  Several civilians and CCSO employees reported seeing Sgt. White "intentionally exposing his scrotum and testicles outside of his unzipped fly" while in full view of other patrons.

The exposure started in the bar area and continued while Sgt. White walked around the business and while seated at a table, where he is said to have intentionally twisted his seat to provide an unobstructed view of the exposure.

The Internal Affairs investigation was launched on May 18, and White was notified of the investigation.

The conclusion of the investigation was that the reported events were most likely true, due to witness statements.
