Search for suspect who shot Cape Coral teen continues

CAPE CORAL, Fla -- The search is underway right now for the person who shot a teenager in his own driveway. It happened near Mariner Middle and High Schools in Cape Coral on Friday, and we're still waiting for an arrest to be made.

Police are asking for the public’s help to find the car neighbors said they saw speed away from the scene after they heard multiple shots fired.

CCPD released surveillance images of a silver Dodge Charger that's in good condition with chrome rims.

The shooting happened Friday around the same time students at Mariner Middle and High Schools were set to get out of school early ahead of the holiday break. It forced both schools to be put on lockdown.

The teenager had to be trauma alerted after police said he was shot in his driveway on Northwest 18th Avenue.
