SOUTHWEST FLORIDA -- If you're looking for an event to attend to honor the men and women who lost their lives serving our country this Memorial Day, here are just a few events happening in Southwest Florida.
The City of Bonita Springs will have a service at 9 a.m. at Riverside Park (10451 Old 41 Road).
In Cape Coral, the Coral Ridge Funeral Home and Cemetery will have their service at 10 a.m (1630 SW Pine Island Road).
Also in Cape Coral, the Southwest Florida Military Museum & Library (4820 Leonard Street) and Invest in America's Veterans Foundation will host their annual Memorial Day Ceremony from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. The ceremony will feature keynote speaker Congressman Francis Rooney.
In Fort Myers, a Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens (1589 Colonial Boulevard) at 9:30 a.m.
And in Naples, Hodges Funeral Home will have their service beginning at 9:45 a.m. (525 111th Avenue North) Congressman Francis Rooney will be one of the keynote speakers.
Also happening Monday, the Edison and Ford Winter Estates is offering free admission to vets and their families. The admission includes an audio tour of the historic homes, gardens, lab and museum. Vets will also receive a 10% discount on retail purchases in the museum store.
To receive free admission, vets must show their VA card or DD214 papers. Current service members will receive free admission throughout the year.
