SANIBEL ISLAND, Fla. — The Sanibel Police Department has launched a new app, allowing members of the public to share public safety information with officers.
The app allows you to share information anonymously with police by sending them a secure message about crimes or suspicious activity in the area. Like the current Tip411 system, the new app lets officers respond back to the tip.
"We believe the public is our greatest law enforcement resource," said Chief Dalton of the Sanibel Police Department. "Our new Sanibel PD App, along with our existing tip411 anonymous text a tip system, will help our residents play a more active role in keeping Sanibel safe."
The app can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store or on Google Play.
